are you happy with your countries independance ?

here in scotland the big political question is ''independance''.
the country is split into 3 camp's :- 1/3 pro-independance, 1/3 pro status quo (remain part of the UK) & 1/3 undecided.
i was just wondering how you out there feel about it.
do you miss colonial power or remaining part of a larger country (or empire, federation or union) or are you happier that your own country decides it's own law's and way in the world?

please state what country your from and if you can recall it's independance.
