Hes an atheist, and smokes hashish (weed). What more do you have to do to be considered far left.

By the way I think hes funny but he goes overboard criticising issues, and isnt rational as some have precluded.

What makes you think Maher is far left? And he's hardly an expert on anything. What exactly you YOU think Obama should have done that he didn't do? I think it's crap that he said yes to more oil drilling, but that had nothing to do with this. How about the idiot congress and president who didn't insist that they put a remote control emergency valve on their system. Something virtually ever other country requires. Now this spill is going and going and they have to figure out some way to go down 5000 feet in the ocean to cap the thing. In the meantime over 200,000 gallons a day are leaking out. And how about the horrible oil companies that paid bribes to make sure they wouldn't have to put those valves on. Who cares if tourism in the entire region will be destroyed, with a massive economic impact. Who cares that an entire ecosystem will be destroyed. Obviously those people didn't. And that happened well before Obama got into power. No surprise that it seems Haliburton/Cheney were involved. But of course you people have to blame all the ills of the world on Obama, no matter how irrational. If he had done more, you would have whined about the government getting involved and spending taxpayer dollars on a private crime.

He is more than far left and his ramblings about the 9-11 terrorists as being brave or heroes shows that his views are from the hate America crowd. His background is not in government studies and he is a stand up comedian so how could anyone believe he can pontificate on politics with any real knowledge. He is one of the biggest fools on TV.

Bill Maher is one of the worst comedians ever. I am not a big Bush fan, but it seems like all of his "jokes" involve him just saying to an audience "wow, don't we have a stupid president?" and everyone just laughing like that one statement is anything original or creative. I had to sit through an entire routine by him and didn't even crack a smile. The guy is going to be out of business if a Republican doesn't win the next election.

And yes, the guy sounds like he is a radical extremist when it comes to leftism. It make sense that the only reason he's popular is because only idiots who are far-left go to see him at his shows so they can hear him parrot their own beliefs and pretend it is comedy.

Bill Maher has made some very good truthful points on his show. One of his problems is the way in which he presents them. If he would just stick with the facts and take the comedy out of the show, it would be better.

I don't consider Maher (or Castro, for that matter) to be too far left. But I dislike Maher. Yes, he has flashes of wit here and there, but he's also snotty and high-minded, not to mention he's a flaming Zionist.
I once saw him get into it with Al Sharpton over this issue, and Sharpton really put Maher in his place---thus earning my everlasting respect.

Maher has some balance and admits his bias. Do you think Fox News will bring Tony Snow back as an anchor?

This is a great U Tube clip. Hitchens handing Maher his head, intellectually speaking. Maher is a 2nd rate intellect, and his audience is much worse.

Bill Maher is smart, but he is not cerebral. he is a cynical opportunist and a smart Alec.

His sole perspective is self promotion as is Micheal Moore

I also think he's very funny. His views are to the left but not extreme. He has had some people on the show that went too far left & he challenged them on it.

I like him , just wish he was more serious . I mean the guy talks about hardcore issues that will have lasting effects yet throws in about 4 jokes while talking about said issues and in the process makes a mockery of the issue at hand .
