I had concrete poured yesterday in my backyard. I can't get a hold of the guy that installed it. He didn't leave directions as to keeping wet. Please help. I don't think he'll be back untill Tuesday, after the holiday.

The main reason you continue to wet down the new concrete is to promote a smooth, lighter colored surface. Not really necessary.

Depends on your climate. If you have moderate temps and moderate to high humidity, no. Modern concrete can have additives that slows curing......would have been nice if he told you. However, once the top is firm, rain won't hurt the concrete, so neither would water from a hose. It's up to you......I'd probably do it.

dont know where you live so i dont know the climate...if its cool nights and not too hot in the daytime like here in the east just wet it with the garden hose once or twice a day...dont cover it with plastic unless you like that splotchy look. if he sealed it after he finished it you will have nothing to worry about anyway...

I would lightly wet it down. The concrete will soak in the water thus making it a harder surface

I'm pretty sure wetting it slows curing, which promotes strength and reduces cracking.

Did he cover it with plastic? If not; you might want to do that so it keeps the moisture in longer.
