saying something that you wish you hadn't... that can get you in serious trouble... at least if you say nothing at all you're not demeaning anybody

Saying something you wished you hadn't because if it's something you wished you had said then maybe you might get a chance to say it again but if you said something you shouldn't have you can't take it back and sometimes all the apologizing in the world does no good.
