I don't think you should use glitter or any thing colorful. This type of book is about an ugly fact, so it should be plain and simple. If you can find pictures of real children crying, looking away, looking downward it would be good. I like the idea of having words. You could also use helpless, lonely, hopeless, rejected, unloved.....
This author has written other books so I hope if you haven't you will read them also. I have seen him on talk shows and it is amazing that he has turned out as well as he is. I think he may have a web site where you could get some more ideas.

I agree, no glitter, that would take away from the subject of the book. If this is for a school project I'd stick with pictures from magazines, the words, and pictures of children who look sad or lost. Maybe a few of actual abused children just to show the affects it has. It is a very touchy subject, you don't want to glorify it but you also don't want to make it so graphic that your audience can't look at it. You might want to include hot lines to report child abuse and organizations that help abused children as well.

I think your on the right track with the magazines and cutting words out maby you should find articals on child abuse cases over the internet or out of magazines or maby even news papers and use those im 14 and a child called it was a very very hard book to read i always thought i had it bad cuz me and my "dad" don't get along very well at all he always yells and thats how he handles things and i read this book and i realized no matter how bad i think i have it ill never have it as bad as "it" aka david had it his mother was a horid woman and shes a ***** i don't think she should have ever been born she should have never conceved ither if she was going to be like that well g-2-g bye bye for now oh p.s you could interview people about child abuse and save the papers and use those

I wouldn't use glitter. The best suggestion I could make would be to find pictures that children who have been abused themselves have drawn.
It's such a serious topic. The whole series by Dave Pelzer (The Lost Boy and A Man called Dave) is great and heart-wrenching. The series is also inspiring.
Keep it simple and touching. Good luck with the project.

I have read the book and think you have a wonderful idea. Did you know he became a Christian later? Visualize placing a picture of him, not just anybody, in the center. Use glitter on this picture to represent his new life. Then use photos of abused, neglected, poor children as a background showing how anyone can rise above their particular circumstances in the face of adversity. It will give all who see it the message of HOPE!

I'm sorry but i don't think what your doing is a good idea at all.
what is your point in doing it?
why take other child abuse stories to add to it..
and why take glitter and "decorate" a child abuse case.
also... child abuse victims are not...."worthless"
I don't understand your logic in this project, people who have been victim to child abuse don't really want to see it plastered all over a "collage"
and where will you put your "art"
I don't know if this is a wind up or not but i have to say if your for real i,d think again about what it is you are doing

Is this for a school project?
The subject of child abuse is so depressing, please don't use glitter. You can't really dress this stuff up. "Cool ideas?" Why don't you reread the book, especially the part where the boy is locked in the bathroom by his psychotic mother with a
bucket of ammonia trying not to suffocate to death and rethink your whole collage idea.

By far the saddest true story ever written. You should do both take pictures from other books and from online. Include pictures of homeless kids too. Although they are not necessarily abused they do suffer. Good luck.

i offered that e book final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days and study it- basically putting all of it the way down to consume or sleep. exciting truly the story in the back of Billie Jean, yet another exciting situation is that Quincy Jones banged heads with Michael over the identify of the music as QJ did not particularly like the titile "Billie Jean" because of the fact there is this primary tennis participant Billie Jean King human beings would confuse for. yet MJ grew to become into adamant with regard to the identify, and it grew to become the main danced music around. That grew to become into the shape of artist that he's, that stroke of genius!
