First write them in inproper fraction

1(1 over 3) is 4/3
1(1 over 2) is 3/2
1(2 over 3) is 5/3

find common denominator. common denominator is 6

4/3.. multiply the top and bottom by 2. this will become 8/6
3/2.. multiply both by 3. this will become 9/6
5/3.. multiple both by 2. this will become 10/6

now just add the top numbers and put it over 6.

8 + 9 + 10 = 27

27/6... simplify if possible. by 3's

9/2 is your answer

some calculators allow you to enter fractions and their whole parts but they all differ in keystroke sequence depending on the model and manufacturer of your calculator.

the best way to do this no matter what calculator you have is to do some of this in your head like this

for the first term take the last number (3) multiply it be the 1 outside the parenthesis then add the 1 from the 1 over part to get 3*1 +1 =4 in your head
then punch in 4 divided by 3 on the calculator to enter that part then hit the plus.
In your head do the same for the 2nd part, 2*1 +1 is 3 so enter 3/2, plus, (in your head 3*1 + 2 = 5) so 5/2 on the calculator then the equals to get a final answer,

so punch in 4/3 + 3/2 + 5/3 = 9/2 OR 4.5

These are the buttons to press in the given order.
The answer is 4_|1_|2 on the calculators screen.
