I think they will greatly improve (not make the playoffs), depending on Nikoli's performance. They have great prospects and some young talent. Havlat can be a top 10 scorer if he stays healthy. Be patient though. I know they will be a good team if they develop players and dont trade them all away

Well don't think they will be in first place in their division but, with the few additions they did in the off season I think they just might make the playoff's even if it by the wildcard berth. But, until Wirth either starts to put out money to get better players and keep them or he sells the team to someone who will don't expect anything more then being lucky to make the playoffs.. I am a Chicago fan and will be the rest of my life and I will always hope to see a Stanley Cup brought back to Chicago. The last time was 1961 the year I was born.. So, with the Blackhawks in 1961, the Bears in 1985 Superbowl, the Bulls with 3-peat and the others with Jordan, the White Sox with the World Series and the Cubs?? well, I hope to see them in my lifetime win the World Series to kind of have all major Chicago teams win the top game for me in my life... GO CHICAGO TEAMS !!!!

Until the team addresses their need for a defence that can stop the likes of Detroit, Colorado, etc............they won't be that much better. When Andrei Zyuzin and James Vandermeer are your most experienced defencemen....you have worries.
The addition of Kane adds depth, but at 18 he may not be a big contributer. Denis has also said he isn;t going to push the guy out of the gate.
Toews will make an impact on offence. he has proven he can play with the big boys with his taking a regular shift at last year's World Championships.
Kevyn Adams brings a lot of experience and grit to the team as well.
So, will they be better? Yes
Will they make the playoffs? Possible. There are a lot of mediocre teams in the West that will be battling for the last couple of playoff spots

Well first of all Benny the BlackHawks are a west team
and to answer your question the will improve alot with the adition of Patrick Kane the Buffalo Native expect them to be a team fighting for a playoff spot and needing to play up until that last game to know if the make it in or not kindof like the Isles did last season

The Blackhawks have as much of a chance of being a contender as Terry Kath and Peter Cetera rejoining the band Chicago. They will scratch the surface this season as their collection of wunderkinds develop. In 2008-09, they will be scary good as they get the fun task of joining Detroit and Nashville in beating up on the Blues and Blue Jackets in their division.

adding kane might help, in a few years.
i would say they get a little better than last year, but they are still very far away from being a team destined for the playoffs. i say the win a max of 15 more games than they did last year. 15th or 14th in the east

when the best addition to your team was Robert Lang you haven't got much hope. For now just find solace that Kane will get plenty of ice time to develop.
