I have PCOS and have started taking Met to try to ovulate. I have worked up to 1500 mg slowly, but have been taking all of them at night before bed (to sleep thru the horrible gas!). I guess I should try to start spreading them out during the day, but I'm scared of the side effects during the work day. Will it not work as well if I do it all at once? I'm not on the XR, just the regular.

The problem you may have is that the side effects you notice may be more compounded by taking the tablets all in one day. (I have friends who take Glucophage and it's generic equivalent metformin for insulin resistance related to PCOS)

I would recommend checking with your pharmacist and doctor as well to see what they say.
