It's cool if it's unique, but a lot of the time it's just something that's been done before. Or it's half a big gesture, like he tried to do something special to seem cool but was afraid to get too crazy. If you're going to do it, then do it all the way! Also, when it's a big promposal in front of a bunch of people, I imagine it would be a lot of pressure to say yes, which is unfair. Most importantly, it depends on the person your asking's personality. Would they really want to be asked the way that you're thinking of? If not, then don't do it - you're only thinking about yourself(trying to show off to other people). I personally would hate a public promposal, but a personal one away from other people might be nice. Don't go over the top if that person doesn't like over the top.

No. If it had just been the initial incident, I think everything would have blown over. Instead, he had to go and utter the word again at the Golden Globes and keep rehashing the incident over and over. Yes, he did 'jump through hoops' in terms of doing the PSA and such, but since he phrased it as hoop-jumping and not about being truly repentant about what he did, I don't think it had any effect. He seems to have anger issues (and cannot keep his story straight, as it has been different each time he has told it), and from what I've heard he contributed to a poor working environment. Therefore, I think TPTB were entirely justified in not renewing his contract. I hope, for his sake, that he gets help for his issues and can right his life again.

NO! He did not get a "raw deal". He should have considered his raw comments before making them. It is essential that people in the entertainment industry (who admittedly know their craft) become more aware of how to behave in public. He is fortunate that he is new to fame and will be given another chance to demonstrate that he can act appropriately (The new Bionic Woman series). As an actor and an african-american man who needs to work, it is doubtful that he could withstand another illinformed outburst.

Yeah, he got it too hard.
He apologized...besides there are other so-called stars with much worse behavior and nothing happens to them.
The show won't be the same without him.
He is sooooooo hot!

his comment was the excuse to get rid of him, but he probably didnt get along well with the rest of the cast. when you work that closely with ppl, you have to leave your personal views at home. hate is never an option.

No. I think he was the cause of a lot of on-set tension and he deserved it.
