Well I think its a pretty good idea, but I will stick with the SKY 6, as Google Sky is not much use to me at all at the telescope.

The digital survey is pretty poorly implemented if you ask me and lacks any useful functions except a few pictures.which are better seen on other sites like Hubble or ESO.

Programmes like this cannot replace viewing the sky with your own eyes and I think getting rid of sky glow and pollution would be more important than looking at a virtual sky.

I give it 3 out of 10, its a waste of time.

It desires progression - it only says 'Your present day region' without giving and co-ordinates, there is no horizon, it does not pass in actual time, etc etc etc - all of which make it pants for use by way of a intense astronomer. yet i'm optimistic Google will iron those equipment faults out in time!

it's gonna take me a while to figger out how to navigate in it to get what I want to see... but you younger folks will prob have that conquered right quick...... the pictures are from all sorts of groups... hubble, nasa, soho, etc.... so you can get a lot with a good search.....

if you have Earth, and recently got it.... you may have it... top bar far right icon....

quite bothering in the first when you change to the space view...... but when you get used to it, it becomes your servant; follows anything you want it to do. hahahahahaha
