the Knife came first, then the spoon then the fork. here is my reasoning behind it. In cave man days a blunt object like a rock with sharp edge or a stick was sharpened to cut hince like a knife or to kill with. As for the Spoon I think it came next because a Knife would not do for a soup or liquid it would take too long or not at all (starving). Then the Fork because it was a combination of a knife & a spoon sorta. it could cut but not hold liquid. My opinion.

I know the knife was. The spoon and fork were created in the middle ages for the rich, but the knife had been around for millenia before that, both as an eating utensil and a weapon. eg. One could cut a piece of steak with a knife, as well as pick up that piece, and that's what people did.

The knife, because it's the simplest, most effective tool to cut with. Then came the fork, which cuts a little but holds a lot. The spoon was probably developed last, as it's actually more practical to simply slurp liquids out of bowls and mugs, even if that's not the most polite thing to do.

The Knife. Cavemen don't need a fork or a spoon, but they need some kind of a knife to cut some of the things they ate. After it was cut they could use their fingers. The 1st knives were made by banging rocks together until they got something with a sharp edge they could cut with.

I think the spork was created first. Then a genius came and used some crazy machine that caused them to separate. And BAM! You got yourself a spoon and a fork. The knife was created because they were tired of using a stick!!

Knife because essentially it's just a sharp stick.
So all you need to do is rub something long enough to make it sharpen and get a point.

Forks sound unbelievably complicated..
They probably made a spoon after the knife and cut into the spoon to make a fork.

That's my theory anyway.
