I suggest that you contact the US military. They may be able to help you.

Certainly, nobody in Vietnam will be able to.
Or does your question imply that he had made-in-Vietnam children before he was killed?

Judging from your e-mail address, I'm guessing you live in either Australia or Austria.
I would start my search by placing this post in the Yahoo, US, Chicago forum.
If you have no luck, google Chicago Telephone Providers(probably Verizon). If you can't find a telephone number for the right Cassano in Chicago (you'll probably have to call at least a dozen) , hire a private detective over the net. They are fairly cheap and very effective
Good Luck

this is a "catch 22 solution" write a request to; national personal records, military personal records, 9700 page ave,, st louis, mo. 83132... they will send you a bill for about $20. but they will only give you an address if you get written permission from the addressee!! i swear to GOD its nuts... you may try giveing them YOUR address /phone # and they might contact the family for you and give the family your info ..... good luck.. sincerly...
this looks like it might be a relative of yours... you might try some "family tree" search site ????
