Wouldn't bother me at all, I am not a criminal and do not do anything illegal for me to worry about it. I would feel that much safer knowing the MAN is watching my back...

We are becoming increasingly surveilled in the U.S. In the U.K. there is CCTV everywhere in the cities. It's not necessarily a bad thing. When you leave the confines of your home, you lose the right to expect privacy.
I know, for example, that when I go to Wal-Mart, my every move is recorded on cameras, both inside the store and in the parking lot. Same goes for casinos and many large malls.
If it can help convict criminals who kidnap children or otherwise endanger the citizenry, then, I'm all for it.

I am under surveilliance at work, in the street and any public place but I would be feel violated if they were bugging my home and monitoring my internet communications though. I have never done anything wrong enough for the government or police to invade my privacy to that degree.

Yes, I would feel violated--even if I were doing nothing "wrong." Wrong by whose definition?
The REASON the founding fathers gave us the right to privacy is because all of them would have been hanged as traitors. So anyone who believes we should have some kind of "big brother" system is also implicitly saying that the founding fathers should never have been allowed to create the USA in the first place. How un-American is that?

Apparently we are on CCTV 80-90% of the time when out in public; and whilst I do not think about it a lot of the time it does bother me a bit.
Doesn't seem to bother some criminals though huh? They still go about their shadey business regardless.
Big Brother has been watching a while!

I asked where the camera or person was, smile and wave at them. My 'rights' are to be able to go where I wish in safety. If being under surveillance helps then so be it....

We just have to put up with it in the society that we live in. We should feel safe in the knowledge that it shouldn't affect us if we have nothing to hide. It is also a brilliant tool in bringing us one step closer to catching the criminals and ringing crime rates down.

In Britain we,re caught on CCTV around 300 times per day, per person. It doesn,t seem to bother anyone here.

The world that we live in is one where we are watched most of the time, wherever we are and whatever we are doing. I dont think its right, however there doesnt seem a lot we can do about it anymore. Big Brother is watching you...............

If you're out in public you're foolish to assume you're NOT being watched by someone. Why would that upset me?
