Poor fella- gets exposed and his party abandons him. If he isn't gay it is a real shame that his collegues all seem to think so.

Well, he's not the first homophobic guy to be caught in a gay sex scandal (see Mark Foley). In fact, the harsher they are on homosexuals, the more likely they are to have homosexual urges or be out-and-out gay.
I do believe the gentleman from Idaho was implicated in the 1982 page sex scandal.
