It involves vibrio ficheri and buioluminescence!! so vibrio fischeri is a bacteria that produces light, which is called bioluminescence. Can anyone help me think of a project envolving this??? THANK YOU!!!



examples are like , What are the effects of pollution on this organism and it's light?? but i cannot do this bc it has been done too many times!!!

I seem to remember a case where they put a bacteria that was distinctly red into an oil pipeline to find a leak (or maybe a sewer pipe?). where the oil leaked out of the pipe the bacteria thrived and made a red patch in the sea.
maybe you can copy that idea... maybe make a mock up dam and see where the leak is by looking for the bioluminescene in the dark?

maybe you could resaerch the diff. types of fish that use Bioluminescence, i seen a documentary that was about deep sea animals, and i guess some deep sea fish have green, blue or red lures. you could make a project about how the diff. species of fish catch diff. types of prey with diff. types of Bioluminescence
