When I go out dressed as a woman, or even andro the think I notice is that most girls who can 'read' me are cool, but the guys seem aggressive and definitely not cool.
One time I got attacked by four guys but was able to beat up one of them before the others bottled it and ran off. Scary stuff though, but I guess they have teh problem more than me.
Is it because they just don't like cross dressers breathing the same air as them, or are they jealous we can play at being girls, but still like girls as well without there being anything gay involved? Who knows teh answer to this one?

I guess one day I would hope we would mature enough to say live and let live. You don't have to agree with stuff, but should respect a person's right to 'be'. Where to draw the line? murder, paedophilia, rape, sexual abuse and so on - all cases of something that is plain wrong and disgusting. Men dress as women for many reasons - for me, it is mostly women have nicer clothes and I like the fabric, nothing sexual or sordid about it. I go out because I have some friends in the t-community. When I go out I like to look the best I can. If I support Liverpool and not Everton I would be accused of Everton fans of being something or other - people are so judgemental are'nt they? I guess cross dressing makes me a nicer person, and although most guys are okay, you can see the way some talk and walk and act - in a way that is unpleasant. Is'nt all this macho stuff what got us in trouble in Iraq? Time for the guys to just chill I think!

LOL!!!!!!! I think it's funny that they assumed that you were some helpless bit*h. They forgot that under that dress is a man and one that can kick a$s. Good for you!!!!!! Guy's who beat on TV's and gays are basically insecure and big cowards. I, personally respect everyone no matter how different they are from me. God bless.

I think Design star is absolutely right!
And another thing......
200 years ago a woman was expected to wear a dress and a man was expected to wear a pair of trousers.
in 2007 a woman can wear trousers, shorts, skirts, aftershave and anything else a man can wear, so why is it so wrong for a man to do the same? we are living in the 21st century. I wear what I want to wear, sometimes I go out with mascara, eye liner on because I like to look my best and sometimes I don't. I really don't care if people like it or not because the ones who don't normally look like **** anyway!

When we dress as a girl.... When we really go to town and go the whole nine yards, we look hot... agreed ? (say "yes Imogen" ! )
Ok, and they see us and think "Hmmmm, that babe is sooooo Sweet !" and then they (Finally) read us, and that, in thier mind, that makes them "gay" (no offence guys and girls) and so it scares them to thier feeble insecure homophobic core, and thay rely on thier only defence.... Aggression !
Left well enough alone, they are no real problem, it is a real scare that they are out there, and while society is full of ultra agressive people, it's best we girls take ownership of the issue and rather than try to mend thier minds (impossible I'm afraid) we can take steps to prevent ourselves and other girls getting into trouble with them.
No.... It's not fair, but kiddo, no one ever said life would be.

People in general fear what they don't know or understand, and straight men in particular will act on that fear by striking out with violence.
This is in no way a justification, just an explanation of their behavior.
Sorry this happens, and I wish you the best in the future, even if we both know you'll probably have to deal with morons again at some point.

Its simply because of their own insecurities, they need to pick on others to try and make themselves feel big and manly, when in truth they are just bullies with nothing better to do. Next time try they stiletto down the leg trick they stop feeling big and cant run off lol

People hate what they don't understand or don't like, plus I think some men hate transvestites because they want to dress as a woman too.

You must be some looker or fighter in either case.
The problem is that guys think of you as a pervert or a sick person who they feel should be punished for your transgression of what they call normal.
I know of women who don't like guys in dresses as they feel threatened by the fact that they are more butch than they care to admit to being.

I think way too many of the answers here are intellectualist garbage. Bottom line is this - they find it to be disgusting and an anathema to what is expected in society. I personally would not choose to associate with that lot, and it isn't because I am insecure with my sexuality or because of some BS feminist crap that is being spouted on here - I just think it's gross. I certainly don't think that it justifies hatred of violence of any type tho - I think how a person chooses to dress is their business.
