i totally forgot to pay my rent yesterday so the office is closed today, tomorrow, and for labor day, so my only options is to wait until tuesday which will be the 5th or to take it today and leave it in the door slot,but i'm kind of afraid to leave it and then they say they haven't gotten it.(i always pay with an money order) which would be the better options for me to do?

Never leave your rent without a receipt. You are already late. there's no point making it worse by leaving your payment on the office floor. Leave a note, or fax a copy of the money order to the office, saying you were there to pay the rent but the office was closed, and that you will return as soon as they are open for business on Tuesday.

Wait for tuesday. Even if you let it on the door slot, it still be considered delivered the next working day in this case on tuesday.
Leaving the money on the door slot is not a good idea. There's a real possiblity of being stolen and then you will have to pay the rent again.

When the first of the month lands on a weekend, usually a landlord will allow the rent to be paid on the next business day without late fees. There is also usually a grace period where they don't mark you late. Just pay them on Tuesday and don't stress about it over the weekend!

Tuesday is the 4th. It's always good to present it in person, even if paying on time so that way you can get a receipt.
