I am calling on all citizens of this country to start our own enforcement of immigration laws and to block the border from the mexican trucking companies that are being allowed to cross our borders as of Saturday September 1,2007.What we need in this country is for the legal citizens to rise up and do the jobs our government won't do.THIS IS NOT AN OPEN BORDER COUNTRY AND IT WILL NEVER BE.As for all to see our government only sees dollar signs with this action to let them start driving on OUR roads we have paid for so they can take more jobs and lower income to our greatest assests in the country the truckers who transport our goods across the nation.How many will lose their jobs because of the greedy corporations and politicians in this country?I call on all legal citizens to stand for our country and our rights as American citizens.If you have a truck,pick-up,big rig or even a car and live in the area of our southern border i call on you to block the border from these mexican trucking companies and not let them pass,civil disobedience is the only answer here since calls to congress and the courts have been rejected and should tell you right there they don't care.LET"S MAKE THEM CARE,LET"S MAKE THEM TAKE ACTION FOR US THE PEOPLE!I urge all to take action whether on the border or in your home town.How many more jobs are this countries elite going to give away to foreign companies and globalist corporations,and yes this includes our so-called representatives because they could put a stop to this IMMEDIATELY!I UGRE ALL TO ACT NOW!!!

what people need to do is call their senators. a bill passed the house with over 400 votes to block this. now the bill is rotting in the senate.

Bush did this on a labor day weekend in midst of a sex scandal for a reason. He knows you aren't watching.

Sherryn, these trucks were pretty much sold to them 15-20 years ago. Most of their trucks have been through half a dozen American owners before they were sold to mexico. What the hell are we going to do with them even if we confiscated them? As for them getting inspected, not likely. I've been driving ten years, I've been inspected ONCE. In fact, in the state of Texas, where most of them will be coming through, open weigh stations are a rarity. if they are open one day a week i'll bend over and kiss your butt. so the most likely scenario is the first 950 miles they drive in the US, they won't even encounter an open weigh station.

this is what you are going to see, not at first, because it's a pilot program, so they will only send the new trucks up here. You are going to see, dilapidated 20 year old smog belching trucks with bad brakes, bald tires of various sizes, fuel tanks hanging loose with broken straps, half the lights malfunction, and driven by a non english speaking mexican who cannot read the signage, and who bought his license that may or may not have his real name on it. there is no testing down there. anyone who has a license can drive a truck. They don' have to keep log books. There is no drug testing program. so a driver can arrive at the border in ;Laredo Tx after have driven 3000 miles straight by going on a cocaine binge and there's not a damned thing we can do about it until after he kills someone.

NO NO NO. Let them come & let them have the same searches & weigh station stops & regulations to adhere to as any & all other American vehicles do. Then & only then will we be able to SEIZE their trucks due to non-compliance of the state & federal regulations of the USA! There are gonna be a LOT of trucks for sale at the auctions next year. This should be good. This just could be the best silver lining our country has had in a LONG time! It should help to fund the road improvements for years to come.

Vigilanteism will only get you in trouble with the law.

I have seen absolutely no evidence that anyone has tried to solve this through appeals to the US Supreme Court, only claims of same. Can you cite a single case on point?

We live in a Republic, where the voters elect representatives to decide issues based on the will of the people. When the people are divided on many issues, such as
* The war in Iraq
* The war with bin Laden
* Abortion
* Immigration
* NAFTA
* Middle Class Jobs being exported to other nations

Then it is only natural that the elected representatives are also divided, and cannot come to decisions that will please most of the people.

Advocates, of one solution or another, need to figure out how to persuade advocates of contrary views, to change their views. We need a return to civil discourse, to intelligent debate.

Did you know that we are very close to the anniversary of the Lincoln Doublas debates that had such pivotal consequences as the end to slavery in the USA? There's a movement to celebrate that by having similar debates across America, only to have them on the issues that divide us today.

For real, can't we just shoot them, and be done? It would be faster and easier than waiting for Congress to do anything about them.
