What is the recommended GPA out of a 5.0 scale?? PLEASE HELP! i know its out of a 4.0-but my school offers advanced courses so its out of a 5.0. whats a good GPA to have out of that in order to get into a really good college?

This is very variable, because almost no one takes ALL advanced courses, and therefore some of your courses are out of 5 points while others are out of 4. That's why GPAs get adjusted, because if one school offers a lot of AP and other advanced courses, and another only offers a few, they have to compare the GPAs on a common (4.0) scale. You can adjust your own score by changing every grade you got on an advanced class to the equivalent grade on a 4-point scale - 4.0 if you got an A, 3.0 if you got a B, etc.

GPA is much much less important than rank in class for the top colleges. You want to be at least in the top 10% of your class for top colleges.

anything above 4.0 will be very good but if you seriously care then try to get at least all B's in advanced courses or A's if you study hard enough. good luck.
