i think that a date doesnt have to be about paying and splashing out, just going somewhere romantic can be nice. like a beach stroll, or watching a film and cooking a meal. i've grew up very poor, im not ashamed of it, and i think there are other ways to have a date without either party spending a bomb.
but i think it should be 50/50 or one pays for the first date and the other for the next and so on.

No the man should pay for the first but after the first few the cost should be split both ways or the woman should pay, unless she`s loaded then she can pay for them all.

If she asked the guy out yes. If he asked her out no. If the other person insists on paying half, it's not just the first date, it's also the last.

No, never. Because if the guy pays at least we know he really likes us. If we start paying then he could be hanging around because he wants a free meal... Oh, yeah, I'm sure that's what the guy thinks we are doing.

The one who should pay, is the one who asked the other one out. If it is not serious, and you are just going for coffee, or something like that, then both should offer to pay Eventually one wins and pays the tab.
