1. No, they shouldn't because North Korean not only threatens South Korea, but also the US and Japan.
2. South Korea is one of America's most reliable allies. In the Vietnam War, South Korea had the second largest amount of soldiers after the US and suffered the second largest amount of casualities.
3. Although S. Korea "surrendered" to Taliban, it only shows how they value their citizen's lives. However, it does not mean that they are surrendering in Iraq, where they war is happening. South Korea is the largest army contributor to Iraq after the US and Britain.

Im not sure if they should break their alliance, but something needs to be addressed with regards to the policy of always giving in to terrorists that some countries seem to have.

In Columbia, terrorism through kidnapping is rampant. This is just a tactic that criminals have learnt works. The Taliban have just released a statement that the money they got will fund more terrorist attacks and suicide bombings. They have learnt that this terrorist tactic works and South Koreas actions will only encourage this.

If the Democrats get in, this will be standard US policy to capitulate to terrorism - as if that will somehow make it all go away.

Not giving in to terrorism is the only course of action - thats why the IRA lost in Northern Ireland.

It was the correct thing to do. South Korea only have a few hundred troops there and the Taliban were killing the hostages one at a time. What would you have done if you were PM of SK?

If the Taliban had killed them all one at a time the government of SK would fall and the Communists may take over. The stakes were high.

South Korea no doubt got sick of fighting a war, the sole purpose of which is simply for the Afghan government and the CIA to make a fortune from the opium crop. You bulldozed your oil pipeline through Afghanistan, Osama Bin Laden is dead, so what else are you still there for? Please let me know.

All power to South Korea.

If the Country thought like that then it would have no more friends.

Americans have a democracy and so does S.Korea and they have every right to leave if they wanted to.

Canadians want to remove the troops from Afkanistan, should US reevaluate that relationship too?
