I earned a B.S. in elementary education and studied for 2 yrs. towards my masters in Early Childhood Education. At that point, I got married (my husband is a teacher) and moved to an extremely tiny town where there were no teaching jobs for me. I was lucky to be working ANY job there and I worked several different ones before we moved elsewhere. After moving, I tried working for a school in some capacity (other than teaching) and decided that I really didn't like schools as a workplace - too much politics and nepotism for me. So, I decided that since I liked to type and stuff like that, I'd become a secretary since I looked like fun! LOL! And that's what I've done ever since - I was a legal secretary for 10 years. Now I work as a receptionist/secretary and I really like my current position. I make much less money than I would have if I had stuck with teaching, but being happy doing what you're doing is something money can't buy.

over the road truck driver. i like running over things and people that much that i had to get into something that would allow that. working out great so far ; ) i did U.S. Army, then restaurant management, and wanted to make more $$ without much fuss. VOILA!! trucking was the answer. But now it's getting old (no i'm getting old) and i want to be home more often. Soon as house is paid off 8yrs its a plan. then i'll work anywhere just for the med. ins. nothing else matters as long as i'm with my beloved.

Well, I've been an artist all my life, and that never left me anywhere but broke, so for twenty-five years I worked as a mechanic at a car dealership. Five years ago, my house burned down, and during the period it was under re-construction, a friend of mine called and said that a friend of theirs had almost everything under the sun in tattoo equipment for sale cheap. So, I checked it out with a friend who's a local tattooist, and he said it was a bargain. So, I paid Steve to teach me to engrave skin, and that's what I've been doing ever since. I love my work, and just when you think you've seen it all, something else walks in the door. Thanks for asking, take care.

I worked for a local racetrack and slot casino, I was so tired of the sounds of the slot machines. My best friend worked in the delivery service industry and got me a job. I love it, I meet new people, see some of the same people everyday on my route. Spend a few hours in a building and a few outside everyday, and I work within 7 miles of my home!!!

I work with the board of education in Jersey. I work in the transportation section of it. How did I get into this line up? After leaving college and took care of my grandmother before she died and my mom who was sick, I needed to get a job. Tried different places, nothing. Then my uncle said his then wife worked for the board of ed in the town they lived in and she would be a good reference.
Seven years later, I am still working for the board of ed. It is okay. I tell you one thing-it does not matter how well to do the town may be in of where you work, it has to do with who is running the board. And believe me, the one I work for, they are bastards who wastes money on stupid, foolish sh*t.

I was a teacher in a small private school... it was what I had always wanted to do. But I got mad and quit one day. SoOo I opened my own in home daycare... well... I loved doing that but then my husband got laid off from his job and I need to go back to work in a "real job" so I am currently un employed and searching for the right job for me.
