If you've really had a yeast infection for that long, gosh, that is REALLY unhealthy. I think you need to go to your doctor and tell him/her that you are afraid to apply the medication (I am guessing it has to be applied internally and you are squeamish) and maybe you can have oral medication instead. But you cannot do nothing.

A year with an yeast infection? No good, they should never go untreated. You shouldn't be afraid of putting in the medicine, don't worry about it, it's easier than inserting a tampon, just read the directions carefully. Monistat works well.

I would most definitely make an appointment with a gynecologist if it's been over a year. That's not healthy.
Hope this helps,
Amanda.

A year?!? Honey, that's no good! I would go to the doctor if you are scared. I reccomend the monistat tablets you can buy. Insert them over night, for like three days. It is not nearly as bad as the infection. It's like inserting a tampon. Read the directions. You will be absolutely fine.
