No, just a day of reflection. It would turn into a circus like Valentines day. A horrible act should never be celebrated and holidays are celebrated by definition.

I think we should mourn the loss' of our loved ones and Honor all that have fallen in the line of duty, however I ask you this. Before 9/11 would you have questioned why we do not have December 7th as a federal holiday? A day in which this nation lost 2117 of it's Armed Forces? We mourn their loss and we move on with never forgetting what happened. I ask you will you protest for Pearl Harbor also? My thought is we should use both days to reflect on when the nation pulled together as one and worked together to better the greatest country in the WORLD. THE USA!!

it should be a holiday that would remember those who died in the tragedy. the blog states various holidays that we celebrate but most are trully unnecesary. 9/11 however had great impact on everyone especially to those who had relatives who died. according to the article, it would be another day less from school and schools would have to extend sessions, i highly disagree. 9/11 deserves to be commemorated becuase of what it is and not at the expense of students time in school.

I see why we should remember the date but we need not make it a holiday because in future years that will lead to totally disrespectful uses of the day for 9-11 sales, etc.

The worst thing in the world to do on 9/11 anniversary would be to stop working. The terrorists would say, look at them. We have them so devistated they have to quit working for a day to cope. NOPE, it should NEVER be a holiday.

It is already a day of commemoration called Patriot's Day. President George Walker Bush signed the Presidental Proclamation in 2001. He has re-issued that proclamation each year since the attack on America.

No.It should not be a Holiday.

Thou we should not ever forget that a small group of extremists only caused a hiccup in our lives---no I am not diminishing what happened--- in the same way that Japan caused a hiccup at Pearl Harbor and that is not a Holiday either.

I don't think it should be a holiday. People should be in mourning over the extreme deaths the tragedy caused. The emotional pain. Everyone should feel bad, even if you didn't have family in the episode.

No, because then we would have to be taking into consideration other events such as the Oklahoma Federal Building bombing and other such tragic events.
