After 2 years and 110 Billion in federal money and untold Billions collected by private people we still have those lazy, worthless people in New Orleans asking for more money & more credit cards. 1000's are still living in government trailers that are probably 10X better than the getto they used to live in.
Of course the number 1# problem in those trailers is DRUGS!

Isn't time we cut these Free-loading losers off...can we now stop them from taking advantage of the people who WORK everyday and play by the rules?

is it time?..........if not now when?........50 years from now?

Bob has $100. Jamal is broke and sitting on his butt. Frank takes $10 away from Bob and gives it to Jamal. Jamal says Frank is stingy because he only took $10 from Bob. Bill takes $50 from Bob and gives it to Jamal. Jamal is still bitter because he didn't get more but will vote for Bill since he gets the most from him. Bob votes for Frank because he figures he'll get less stolen from him with Frank in office. Meanwhile, Jamal still sits on his butt waiting for another handout, Frank and Bill brag to everyone about how generous they are and Bob has to work his butt off to make more money for Frank and Bill to steal.

Do they know that it is precisely 13.7 billion years? No. That is how science works. Science is continuously reaching for the truth, while recognizing that they could always be mistaken (unlike some other forms of human endeavor). The cosmic background radiation was predicted to be discovered, based on the approximate age of the universe. At the time of the prediction, nobody had yet seen it. It was later found (quite by accident) and it matched the predicted absolute temperature value within a fraction of a degree. Now, you can claim that that was just guesswork. But some guys put their professional reputations on the line to make that prediction. And some other guys worked very hard to make sure that what was eventually discovered matched that prediction precisely. But that is not the only piece of the puzzle. There are several independent efforts that came up with results of their own. These are completely separate and unrelated to the cosmic background radiation. they include studies like: 1. Measurement of redshift in the light spectra from distant galaxies. 2. Chemical composition of star populations and nebulae within the visible universe. 3. Radioactive dating of rocks within our own solar system (Earth, Moon, meteorites, etc). 4. Chemical makeup of the universe as a whole. There are many, many others. They fill libraries. The point is: they all come up with the same answer. And they all reached that same answer from different directions. Could they be wrong? Certainly. Is there an error band? Of course. But it is not just speculation, and it is not guesswork, although it is educated. It is science. The evidence is overwhelming, and it is the best answer that we have, until a better one is found.

The amount of money wasted is excessive but the politicos who wanted to blame the administration for the disaster are responsible for this and just passing bills allocating more and more funds. Its the same as all the funds wasted over the years trying to put in decent levies to help the area that were diverted by local and state governments there for their own corrupt practices,

It will forever be unsafe to live in New Orleans, because it is too far below sea level and gets too many hurricanes, the government is doing a favor by not rebuilding it, because it will be gone again during the next big hurricane and be another preventable human tragedy.

I think your question is a bit harsh, I mean yes many people think like you but I think it has to do with the fact that we are not well informed, yes I know that they have received billions of dollars but we are talking about families who lost it all, everything homes, jobs, pets, family members even in 2 years people cant rebuild what they put together their whole lifes so give them a break!

Let's hope a tragedy like this never happens to you. This is poison and lies you have been feed over these years by the "moral majority".

Why don't you try to spead love instead of hatred for a change. The good you do comes back to you, but the evil you do stays with you.

I actually met a family in Disney early this year. They lost their home due to Katrina.

I got to hear a lot what i have never heard.

They are basically stuck in this trailer they were given to live in.
It may seem crazy, but they really need more help down there then we think.

With some people the more they get. The less they will do for them selves.
