It certainly reinforces rascist tendencies that exist below the surface in most of us.

The other day flying home from Baltimore, I noticed an Arabic looking family (young husband, wife, and daughter), and I immediately began profiling them in my head as potential Jihadists.

Pretty ridiculous I know...but you almost do it without thinking.

Racism doesn't need aid and comfort. It only occurs in stupidity and fear.

As long as there are people stupid enough or are fearful enough, there will be racism. Those with those sterling qualities will use any excuse to further their agenda. They hope to convince people who are able to walk on their hind legs and who can actually think, to join them in their ignorance. To that end, they will point to the immigration crisis in the US and say that the nation's concern is racially motivated. To that end, they will point to the war in Iraq and say that's racially motivated. To that end, they will point to the prison population and say that the justice system is racially biased. It's a crock. All of it. It's racism grasping at straws.

Advice: Don't buy the bull stuff.

Since when are moslems above racisim? Moslems andHitler and Stalin have much in common, After all Jihad is the same as Mein Kampf, and Moslems even do the Goose step and give the "Seig Heil" salute. I will calrify a bit I will exclude the Druze, the Sufi, and those non Wahabist muslims who want to actually live with the Civilized world. Bathe in you ignorace.

No, if by racism you refer to skin pigmentation. If you mean religious and cultural animosity, yes, sadly. But there is no way to avoid it. Our religious enemies are kin to a little understood minority in our nation. They will suffer to some extent and can alleviate the problem only by being super patriots.

Our Muslim community would be wise to unite against the Wahabi cult and be very vocal in the war against the ideas of martyrdom and religious violence. Unfortunately, they were conspicuous in their absence when the Danish cartoons poking fun at Mohammed caused world-wide violence.

Like Blacks in the South a century ago, they will have to be a lot more "angelic" than the majority Judeo-Christians.

No this is not a country involved in the war on terror so I think our war on terror along with our allies does nothing to encourage racism.

SNIP:
"is proposing a scheme to deport immigrant families if their children are convicted of a violent crime, drug offenses or benefit fraud"

I wish our government in the USA had a policy such as this. Maybe it would make the families of the criminals and trouble makers eliminate some of the problems in their own house.

I don't think the war on terror aides and comforts racism
but it sure makes it easier for people to separate certain groups out

If the people we are racist against are terrorists and are trying to kill people where I live. Then it is racist and it should be.
Remember people, We live HERE. They want to hurt us here. And when they do, they wont care if we are racist or not. They will want you dead and kill you just the same. We need to protect ourselves from enemies. BTW I don't like George Bush!! Let me say that again. I don't like George Bush. But This country is my home. And I hate anyone who tries to hurt anyone here. If that makes me a racist I guess I am.

I think its kinda low to link your own questions but here goes. This guy answers the question as he sees it. I am wondering if states that have enacted antiillegal legislation have seen any decrease in crime. I have been looking but cant find any specifics. If theres an article out there that demonstrates once they put the antiillegal legislation in place crime drops thats pretty convincing.

Well the best I can find is the Somalis in Lewiston, Maine. despite reports of high unemployment the crime rates in that town have decreased over time.

I cant find data on current Somali populations but it looks like the crime thing that guy reported in his town are not found in the USA.

It sure causes a lot of radical Muslims to die. I don't know if that is racist, but stop blowing things up and killing people and let's see if it goes away. The religion of peace. If I had my way, it would be the religion of pieces,,, blown up pieces...
