In the eyes of many people (including myself) he is a great president, but only history will tell if he is the greatest president since accurate historical judgement usually lags 2-3 administrations behind any sitting president.

Also, the term "greatest" is really a matter of opinion. For example, many people consider Richard Nixon to be one of the worst presidents ever. But the harsh public opinion of his performance has softened somewhat over the years as more information regarding what was going on during his administration becomes available. The same can be said of many other presidents.

I voted for Bush and here is my answer.

Neither

The greatest president is up for interpretation, but my vote would be Abraham Lincoln, followed by Franklin Roosevelt.

As for great president. History will judge if he is counted among the many great presidents in our history. Having said that, my opinion is that he had the potential to be counted among our great presidents, but his decisions to listen to the wrong advise and advisers should keep him out of that distinction.

I don't believe he is the worst president either. There are many others who have done more damage to our union or just plainly did nothing over the years than he did. Hoover, Johnson, Nixon & Carter come to mind.

RKO, I couldn't help but notice how unbalanced your lists are. I agree that Lincloln is the greatest president, but I couldn't help but notice that 5 of your top ten were all democrats and 4 out of your 5 top worst were republicans. Notice my answer held high regard for both a republican and democrat and my worst selections, even though the question asker did not ask for the worst, include an even amount of republicans and democrats. Try something new, give an unbiased answer.

How on earth could someone who is living on this planet and been awake and paying even half attention over the last 6 years even believe that George W. Bush is even a half way decent president let along the best or anywhere near the best?

Neither, he'll go down as the worst president in history, he is a liar, a bigot, and has spent our future on an unjust war, yet claims we can't afford health coverage for everyone, his cabinet and associates are corrupt and two-faced, he has stirred up racial tensions and ignored the plight of New Orleans people to the degree that charities from OVERSEAS are helping the people that live there, I for one shall breathe a HUGE sigh of relief when his dictatorship comes to an end.

None of the above. The worst president EVER. How could someone that hasn't attended one funeral of any of the soldiers he sent to war be considered great or the greatest. Or further yet, set the record for vacation days while he has our Country at war. C'mon man, learn to think for yourself and stop being a lemming.
