I have kept and still do keep goldfish. The tank is a better home for the goldfish but the two types of fish are not compatable either. 80 won't kill or stress the goldfish too much as long as there is a lot of water movement going on. Run an extra airstone and make sure to keep the filter on as high as it will go. A 20 gallon tank is not that expensive or hard to care for. The goldfish is a delightful pet and collecting is habit forming, there are some gems out there. You might find yourself more and more attached to the goldfish, it acts like a puppy. I think it would be ok for a temporary home, I just hate to see goldfish suffer in a bowl. If he gets too big in the tank he could likely make lunch out of the mollies too. That's just one thing to consider. Maybe you could somehow find him a home. He's not going to live in that bowl, and soon if a decision is not made between the two of you, it will be decided for you because the fish will be dead.

No. One point not yet made is the goldfish may have a disease that could wipe out your mollies. Pick up a bowl and place the gold in there for a while.

warm water will be too stressful for it. best bet would be in a bowl until you can clean the pond
