I would rate it as decent but not "good".

It is pretty slow for a dual core at 1.7 GHz and it's on the lower end of the dual core and core2duo scales.

If you're looking at a new pc or upgrading I'd consider something better/faster than this one. The reason I state this is that the T2080 may satisfy you today, but will it in 6 months or a year from now? It's certainly not a "gaming" level processor, but it will play many of the games.

With what is out there today, and if you can afford a better processor, I would go with something faster.

Hope this helps.

That is a good processor if you don't plan to be working your computer too heavily. Its somewhat on the slower side with a small cache and a slow front side bus. This means, simply put, that for web browsing, word processing, and maybe some light gaming you're alright, but if you're doing anything heavier than that, you may want to consider a Core 2 Duo or possibly a Quad Core.

Just as a side note, AMD offers comparable processors to Intel at a lower cost. They tend to run hotter, but its really no big deal. At the end of the day, you should know, you're paying for the Intel name. :) (I'm using an Intel Core 2 Duo processor right now running at 2.66 GHz. It cost $40 MORE than an AMD dual core processor running at 2.8 GHz! Its more money for less speed! >.<)

Choosing a processor can be a difficult experience... There are just so many out there! You must weigh what you want to do with your computer against cost.

Hope this helps,

T 20xx is Dual Core series which is 32 bit. Good enough for most of the primitive requirements and cheaper.

If budget permits go for T5500 or above (they are 64 bit core 2 duo processors)

It's decent, but personally I would go for one of the 64 bit processors on the list.
