You need to chill out and learn to get along with your father, as well as any people you will ever meet. You can't just run away from somebody you're not getting along with, especially a parent. You are way too young and immature to be on your own. You are probably thinking the grass is greener on the other side, but how will you support yourself through the rest of high school and college, and from where else will you have true, lifetime emotional family support?

Your bestie? Who is that, your best friend? You can't do that.

Just being mean is no grounds for emancipation... he'd have to be downright abusive or neglectful, and you'd have to get social services in on it. Plus there would be a lot of court dates, dealing with lawyers, and so on.

Do you really want to be emancipated? If you are emancipated then you become an adult on the spot and are responsible for yourself totally... you have to have a job and a place to live and keep going to school and pay for everything yourself. It is way more responsibility than most teens are able to handle.

If you really and truly are being abused or neglected and need to file for emancipation or find a safe place to live, contact your city's department of children and family services. You can do this by calling them, or by talking to your school counselor who will help you work things out. You will most likely live in foster care if you are removed from the home, not with your best friend, and it is unlikely that you will be emancipated.
