Does anyone know what benefits i can get from the government to live as I will be off for months.

Maybe its time to get off your backside and work...

Looking at your profile it seems that you have more time and energy organising trips out and events. Maybe if you'd put that much energy in scouring the local papers you'd find a job.

I am not entirely sure, but if you contact your local Citizens Advice Bureau and ask to speak to their Income Maximisation team, they will know all the benefits you will be entitled to and may be able to help you complete the claim forms. Even if you are good at completing forms, with the benefit forms, it so often comes down to how you answer the questions. Definitely give them a call, they will be able to help you.

Statutory Sick pay is the most you are likely to be entitled to from work.

Apparently we have offices that deal with scroungers, head off down there for more advice

Depending on your state and what kind of job you have (whether you paid into a disability program), try applying for temporary state disability. I think it can last a year. After that, there is social security disability from the feds.
