I wanted to confirm that the answer is no. I am a newly commissioned Notary Public and have not Notarzied any documents yet because what I am learning from the the Dept of Revenue in NJ is that the documents have to be created in NJ and deal with NJ jurisdiction, I am getting a different answer from my employer who said that I can notarize New York doucments. I explained to my boss, if I am a Dual Notary, I can sign New York documents. I have declined my bosses request to sign New York documents. Thanks.

My manual says I can notarize documents in any county in the state of New Jersey, I have read it thank you. My boss told me I could notarize documents within the State of New Jersey if the documents relate to New York. I already told my boss no, I will not notarize anything I should not be notarizing. I wanted to confirm it, that I cannot. In NJ you do not take a test to become a Notary Public, in New York you need to take a test. I know it differs from State to State. My boss does not think this makes sense.
