We have been thinking about moving to Florida, to Deltona, thats where my fiances brother lives, or close to there. I know Daytona Beach is there, is this a good area? If not, where is a good area? But not TOO expensive

Daytone beach is only good during nascar races or bike week, other then that it's really kinda ghetto. I lived in south Florida for a while, my dad is there in Pompano Beach. That's very nice, allthough it's a real culture shock. My brother and sister-in-law live in Ft.Meyers. That is a much better place to live think. It's bueatiful there, people are much nicer and the beach is awesome. i would definetly suggest the east coast of Florida. The Ft.meyers area is nice, you could check out Cape Coral too. That's close to Ft.meyers!!!! Absolutly beautiful!!!Great for raising a family or just to live. Good luck, you'll fall in love with Florida. Just try to find a place that doesn't have the jolosy windows. You really want to look for huricane shutters!!!

I understand Panama City is also a nice, comfy place to live. I have been to Miami Beach and although it has some beautiful places to visit, I think it is also very costly. At least our vacation there this past August was a little on the expensive side, even though we did enjoy it tremendously! I don't know anyone that lives in Daytona Beach, so I honestly have no idea what the cost of living would be, but I did hear that it is not one of the most desirable areas to live in Florida. Coral Gables, Palm Beach, and Coconut Grove are where people that have enough money to build huge mansions live, so definitely steer clear of those areas! You also want to watch out for tourist towns like Ft. Lauderdale because students that can't afford to go to Miami Beach invade that town during the summer! I've heard that traffic is horrible there! I also think that Aventura, Biscayne Bay, and Key Largo might also be expensive areas, as well. Right outside of Tampa there are a few areas like Dunedin, Clearwater and a little further south is St. Petersburg, Ruskin and Venice, which appear to be fairly small in comparison to some of the other cities. They are on the Gulf of Mexico side of Florida. On the opposite side of Florida on the Atlantic Ocean are towns like Newport Beach, Savannah, and Jacksonville. Kissimmee is not to far from DisneyWorld. Key West is beautiful, too, but I don't know the cost of living there either, since it is pretty close to Homestead Air Force Base... it might not be too terribly expensive, but I'm really not sure. I would think that anywhere close to an Army, AirForce or Naval base wouldn't be that expensive. Just remember, the closer you get to North or South Miami Beach, the more expensive the property because they are big tourist towns. You also don't want to go to Little Havana or too close to the Miami Int'l Airport because those appear to be very poor areas. Hope this helps!

I lived in Vero Beach FL my whole life which is on the east coast. I just recently moved up north but I would have to say the West Coast, like Tampa and surrounding areas. Job opportunities are better and they have better beaches. Good Luck!

P.S. Daytona is kinda dirty...lol just being honest... :)
