Yep. I have no idea why, for example, Paris Hilton is famous. Or the idiots on those sub-moronic reality shows.

Very interesting question. sweet I think it's definitely too easy to become a celeb nowadays. Back in the day, I think people actually had to have real talent, and were very good in what they did, but now, all you need are a few connections or some money.

No, a celebrity has always be momentary - today's Hottest Thing. Think of those gangsters in the 20's, Machine gun Kelly or Babyface Nelson they were celebs and caught the publics eye.

The problem is that many celebrities think they are actually stars. A star is someone who has earned their status and actually has a body of work to support that status. I mean, really, there are shows now on "one hit wonders" and "where are they now" to answer the question of celebrity.

I think its way too easy, sleep with a famous footballer and like Rebecca Loos your a celeb yourself. Be a glamour model like Jordan or Jodie Marsh and your in.( I actually like Katie Price now. )Go on Big Brother and your a celeb for a time at least. I could go on. What actually is the definition of celebrity nowadays anyway? Not way it used to be me thinks.

People can be classed as a celebrity for doing nothing these days. All these reality TV shows give people their 15 minutes of fame but instead of then fading away into obscurity again, they keep themselves in the headlines by not wearing any knickers when they go out or some equally ridiculous act.
