Because of the deep feelings you have for someone. Those feelings are so strong, that when you loose someone you love, or you are too far away from someone you love, I get that tightness in my throat, I get sad, and we even cry. Love is so powerful as it just takes over that is why we feel hurt, when we are not with the person we love. I sometimes wish we had a pill and it would take all the hurt away, but it does not work like that. Love is a very powerful emotion so that is why we feel so hurt or depressed when our loved one is gone.I hope you have a great day.

It doesn't always hurt. Love can make you feel on top of the world and like you're the only one with that special feeling.
Love can hurt because you care so much about a person and give your best to them and it's easy to be hurt by the one that means so much to you. Those closest to you are the ones that have the power to hurt you like no one else can.

I don't know either, but like the song says, "everybody hurts, everybody hurts, everybody hurts - sometime." Listen to the song "Like Jesus to a Child" by George Michael. It will either make you feel better or worse (the lyrics are amazing.)

It's not love that hurts. It's not being loved by someone you love.

it hurts because you have a strong love/bond with that person and when something goes wrong. it hurts you emotionally and mentally sometimes as well. it's just a love so strong that it causes you to feel heartache.
