I like the name but my wife only likes it for a girl.

I think it's okay. My cousin's middle name is Ryan and she is a girl.

As far as I know, Ryan is a boy's name. I like the name but, it would be as if giving a boy's name to a girl. Plenty of people do that and then sometimes the name catches on as a girl's name. Whatever!!

All the Ryan's I know personally are male. I love the name for a female though, but I have always liked adrogynous names, my daughter is named Peyton, which is primarily a male name. Ryan is a great strong name for a male and a sweet and sassy name for a girl! I love it either way!

I really dont know. i mean you might like it but think about her when she gets to be school age. She might be teased about her name. Its pretty unusual to have a girl named Ryan. If you really like the name I would make it her middle name and find a different 1st name. Good Luck!

It's nice... I never met a girl named Ryan, though. I met a girl named "Ryanne". I think Ryan can be a girl or boys name.

I detest the practice of naming girls with boy names. It tells the girl that you were hoping for a boy and got stuck with her (unfortunately, it is true too often).
There are thousands of names for girls. I'm sure you will find something else.
