No, not at all.
It would be great to invent something that is "remote control free".

Yes and they should come in different styles, fashions, to match anyone's liking. And the very next year, I expect:

Oh shieeit then I'd have to look for two missing remotes. Can't we just stick with the clapper? very simple, very easy!

You are trying cheap remotes. I would try to find an OEM replacement.

I think it should just have a damn
