My daughter was born in 1986, and it's the same thing for her. She likes today's music if she can understand the words and get the theme of the lyrics. But when I turn on MY music in the car, she sings along. I look at her and she says, "No, I did not just sing that song." So she is still in denial.

Personally, (I'm 45) almost none of today's music works for me. Only songs I can hear the worods and the steel guitar isn't too loud--or the percussion!! Those loud drums and the bass speaker turned way up!! I can't handle it. I like il divo or Josh Groban (not that they are comparable, il divo blows everyone else away).

My son is a 90s baby too and he likes a lot of 80s tunes.

Music is music. You like what you like. It's a very individual thing. There's no right or wrong. Just enjoy what you like.

Nothings wrong with you, you've just gotten some taste. Music nowadays is terrible, in every genre. So good for you!

Nobody's Fool is a great song.
