My 2001 Mitsubishi Galant needs a new radiator but how would I know if it's aluminum, steel, other, etc so I know which kind to go and buy. It seems like there is a price range for radiators. In other words, some are probably better than others. Thanks

Just go to the parts store and tell them what car you have and they will tell you what radiator you need. It's not likely you'll have any more than two to choose from>

Any radiator shop can tell you what you have and what you need. Most radiators today are aluminum with plastic tanks.

It doesn't really matter what it's made from, as long as it fits the car. You're looking for parts for a six-year old vehicle. Unless you're planning to keep it forever (not a realistic proposal,) go with the less expensive parts.

It is aluminum with plastic cans.

The plastic is usually the bad spot.
