When Clinton fooled around and lied about it. The left said "Character doesn't matter" and "Stay out of his personal life", things like that. But, when the same is done by a Republican, suddenly character does matter. Suddenly a persons private life is fair game.

The left is all for the homosexual lifestyle until a Republican does it.

So why do the left's opinions change depending on which party is in the spot light?

BTW, as a Republican I think sexual affairs are wrong no matter which party does it.

I get the same impression for the most part, but I remember some exceptions. I don't remember Democrats defending Mary Rose Okar or Jim Wright vigorously enough for them to keep their powerful positions in Congress. The Republicans didn't demand that Hyde resign when it was revealed that he had an extramarital affair.

I guess it can be hard to decide if you should set a standard that says "if you violate a certain rule you can't hold office" or to give someone a second chance to redeem his or herself. If you decide to hold the standard in one case and give a second chance in another, you can expect to be accused of being hypocritical but sometimes that is the choice you have to make based upon factors others might not understand (and sometimes you might actually be hypocritical).

Admittedly it is hippocritical for the left to create a personal life double standard based on which party your are in, but that's just how politics works.

As far as this thing goes though, the Democrats have largely remained silent and let Republicans do most of the condemning. It's been mostly comedians and various media outlets who have gone after this, which also happened with Clinton.

Also, Clinton getting head from an intern isn't quite as bad as an outspoken critic of the homosexual lifestyle soliciting gay sex in an airport men's room. It just reeks of hippocracy.

In the case of the times we are living in, things will change for the benefit of those who are faithful to the truth. The changes for the Party of Hypocrisy are bound to be unpleasant, especially for their leader.

'gay bashing' seems pretty bipartisan on here

we live in a dysfunctional society, we should blame ourselves for our lack of public honesty and openness ... it forces people like this to hide and make poor choices

from what I understand many people still feel homosexuality is a moral deficiency, or means they have a mental problem ... and its really surprising to me that we have only come this far into awareness as a group ... all I can say is; Christians, if you want to sleep at night, don't go to college and take psychology 101

I'd also like to coment on how easy it is for many of you to 'Gay Bash' on Y!A ... if it was race or gender you would get slammed!!!

But...but....Clinton.

Seriously though, when one builds his entire public life attacking the very thing he is,it matters.

Gays like Larry Craig, pedophiles like Mark Foley, thieves like Duke Cunningham...

And Democrats have never said "Character doesn't matter".You need to stop listening to the winger pundits. They lie.

When did the left say that?

When did the right stop caring about party affiliation when it came to these scandals? It does care.

To compare your individual qualities and attack a competing ideology based on stereotypical opinions that you hold of them is very dishonest.
