Ill be putting my liner in and a waterfall. It was about 5 ft deep we had to jackhammer some out so the fish wood be able to live in the cold winter. Imnot sur how deep it needs to be for the fish to survive. Im in Kentucky. Im from California, so this cold weather is new to me. I want my koi or goldfish to live, Open for suggestions!! Thanks

these folks are near you, in Tenn....

www.watergarden.com

they're great folks!!.... explore their site, all over!!... they've got instructions for almost everything about a pond.. get their newsletter, too... it's full of good stuff... on-time tips about when to open/close your pond, feeding fish, keeping them alive thru winter, etc.... and they'll answer emails, too!!... if they're not too far away, consider a visit!!....

in this cooler climate, your five ft SHOULD be plenty.. tho deeper won't hurt for them hiding from herons, etc.........
