How can Dems ignore the lives wasted by using nuclear bombs needlessly?

Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, Commander in Chief of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, reflected this reality when he wrote, "The Japanese had, in fact, already sued for peace.the atomic bomb played no decisive part, from a purely military point of view, in the defeat of Japan."

Admiral William D. Leahy, Chief of Staff to President Truman, said the same thing: "The use of [the atomic bombs] at Hiroshima and Nagasaki was of no material assistance in our war against Japan. The Japanese were already defeated and ready to surrender."

This is very old history and debating it now, won't change it.
Interference from the Dem White House has cost us a lot of lives during wars, they have the strange idea that they are experts in the Military Arts.
Between wars, they hamper training, research, and preparedness, cut budgets and manpower levels.

Sounds like Monday morning Regrets....
Remember The Bomb was Mostly a Army show. Sounds like Nimitz wants to play the, "Navy blockade/ starve them into Surender card." That was a option on the table. The Sub force had destroyed most of their shipping. Cutting japan off from food & oil. The plans for a full scale Invasion were already in the works and troops from Europe were being pulled to move to the Pacific. The Historians generally agree that the bomb saved the lived of many more by making the need for a invasion go away. Nimitz had simmular Navy vs Army opinons over the Philipines. He wanted to take Taiwan instead of MacAurthur's operation.....

That re-writes history. They were ready to fight for every inch, if we ever landed on the main island. You can satisfy yourself by reading about what we faced in Okinawa, and the massive civilian casualties. The atom bomb saved millions of Japanese civilian lives.
