I know the question has been asked. In the NBA there are some questions that can be asked every week.

Oh yeah, I am going to go a little out on a limb and pick,Yi Jianlian.

The Bucks have him under contract now. As boring as Wisconsin is, the Bucks are going to make some noise this year. They might even take the East. If Yi is a top contributor he could easily come out ahead of Oden, Durant, or Holford. Holford is my second pick.

Kevin Durant. Why? Here:

Al Horford still has to battle with Marvin Williams and Josh Smith for the starting PF position and playing time, probably. And he doesn't have to score much since they have Joe Johnson on the team. So not him.

Greg Oden is still very raw on the offensive end. And he still has to work on his foul trouble tendencies. Maybe after a year or more, he'll be more or less a solid Hakeem-like center. But not in his rookie season. Like Nowitzki in his first years, I think he still has to adjust a lot. So not him.

Mike Conley Jr. is a very good passer, but not much of a scorer. And since he has limited talent on his team, just Gasol and Mike Miller, he would have to execute a Chris Paul-esque
performance this season to pull it off and be this year's ROY. So I'm not that sure about him. But he's one of my probable bets.

Kevin Durant has a potential to be a prolific scorer for the Sonics right away, since the Sonics have lost all their star scorers. They would probably rely on him to carry most of the scoring, and most probably he can do it.. and he has shown his talent in the Team USA scrimmage where he scored 22 points. So he's my bet to be this year's ROY.

There. Durant for ROY! =)

Ok im gonna evaluate this in three angles:
Rookie of the Year- Kevin Durant simply because he is the best thing we have seen in the draft since the coming out draft with lebron. Oden has a chance but he is not a bonafide scorer so he will have to rely on his defense,
D-fense ROY- Either Greg Oden or going on a limb but Sean Williams of the NJ nets. Oden has already proven his defensive ability however Sean Williams is an animal near the basket blocking almost anything that comes near him.
Offensive ROY- Kevin Durant or Acie Law. Durant is a bonafide scorer and law can become an amazing scorer like he was on a&m.

Picking Yi is a joke. It took Yao at least two years to adjust to the strength and speed of the NBA game and he was 7'5" 285 as a rookie. Yi has talent and he looks good in workouts and against other Asians, but come on, he's not gonna be worth anything this year. I'm putting my money on Corey Brewer to step in and put up some numbers for the T-Wolves. His frame is built better for the NBA than my runner-up Kevin Durant.

I go with Durant, Yi will be close behind, but I have to go with Durant. With both Allen and Lewis gone, Durant will be the offensive player for them really. On the Bucks like Yi is on, Michael Redd is there to take the load.

Kevin Durant

It will be Kevin Durant.
Yi is a great go-to clutch guy as he had shown in his national team games. Horford on the on the other end can dominate both ends of the court. But they will both play second fiddle to their team superstars (Redd & Johnson, respectively).

In Durant's first competitive game (meaning, he wasn't playing with benchwarmers like the summer league), as part of the USA Blue team, he scored 22 points (64%FG) and grabbed 6 rebounds in just 25min of playing time.

Although Kobe & Carmelo topscored with 26 & 28 pts respectively, they both logged in more minutes (31 & 34 min) and took more shots (45% & 47% FG). (Refer to the source below)

The KID doesn't have an NBA-ready body like what Lebron & Melo had during their rookie years. Also, he doesn't have the high-flying, acrobatic moves that Kobe & Dwyane showed in their first years. But he was playing at the same level with the NBA superstars in a game that was hardly fought up to the dying seconds.

I say it will be Durant for the simple fact he is already making big strides to get better, he went out for the USA team. He will be the leader of The Supersonics sort of like Lebron James was when he first came in. Look for Durant to take the trophy home for Rookie Of The Year !

I think it will be depend a lot of health, but my pick is Greg Oden. Durant is gonna get his skinny self tore up his first season. I wouldn't be suprised if Conley or Horford won it tho.
