They are very easy to install but make sure to buy the correct type. There are soooooooo many variations, some that don't lock at all, some with buttons that push, some with little knobs that turn that can be unlocked from the outside with almost any flat object so they really don't provide any privacy at all. And if you're looking for an exterior door lock, you'll need to know if you need one with the single latch, or one with a deadbolt and latch. Now that I have you totally confused, lol , just be sure to go to a good hardware store and tell the salesperson what you need and go from there. And be sure to keep the receipt, just in case.

yes it is,buy a decent lock from Lowe's or someplace like it and it will ave step by step instructions,just try and buy one that is similar to the one you are changing that way h you won't have to do any drilling

yeah leakthomas is right. but when you install it, try to have someone outside when you try to close it just incase you may not insert the tongue properly, locking yourself outside. we made this mistake with my brother. hehehe
