I'm looking to download a ROM thingy for Rave Racer onto my Vista laptop, as well as the Vivanonno emulator which "simulates" Namco System 22, so I can play it.
How alike is the downloadable ROM to the real thing? Can I use my Logitech Gran Turismo steering wheel with it?

Vivanonno is just about an abandoned last update I could find was in 2003.
You want to use an emulator that runs on Vista can bring complications enough. And then using it on an Laptop, the environment just gets harder.
ROMs are the original games, they would have been the programs on the IC chips the originals used to run the game.
Yes and No about the Steering Wheel, Emulators do allow the use of controllers but not all emulators come with them sometimes you will have to find a program developed by another to use with the emulator.
BY FAR the BEST Emulator is MAME and has everything you want.

game emulators work on all operating systems just download and enjoy!
