Two words for you,Corporate Outsourcing. No, you will not be rid of them unless people boycott companies that do it. The possibility of that happening is nil, why you ask? Well, western civilisation has to have there bells and whistles, cell phones, Internet, HDTV and the list goes on, heaven forbid we should have to sacrifice being loyal to a company that gives us the best damn deals, why do you think they can afford to do that...hmmmmm, because they outsource? It's not just call centres, tons of things are made in other countries, but that's ok too because you what, don't have to talk to them?? On the flip side of that coin, I worked for a company that outsourced to India and I trained some of the supervisors for that call centre, do not blame them they are trying and are wonderful people trying to get ahead just like the rest of us. The saddest thing I can remember is the people that worked at this centre had to have pseudo names, like mike hall etc, I mean what is that telling us about ourselves and the people that run these huge corporations? If you are just generally angered by outsourcing, then do something about it, but if you are just angered because you can't understand the accents they have, I wonder how they feel about you....

Thoughtful Christians - and there are quite a few - respect science along with holding to their faith. They do this by holding two separate bodies of belief - one for religion and one for the real world. Stephen Jay Gould explained this in his last book _Rocks of Ages_. He was a preeminent American paleontologist and a devoted Christian all of his life. Religious crazies on the other hand are engaged in a war on science that never ends. Their Creationist Museum in Kentucky is a laughing stock. Their attempts to have "Creationism" taught in the public schools are an outrage. These are profoundly ignorant people, with silly notions that the world is only a few thousand years old. Mental pygmies really.

Unless the US etc Compete for Call Services etc.
I know AT&T uses Indian Call Centers.
Blame Costs & economics.
Low benefits in India.
Union Benefits High.
thus No call centers in the US.
Blame CEOs & profit margins.

Well I always find the people at the Indian call centres very polite and extremely helpful and they have to have a degree to get one of those low paid jobs

^^ there are lots of unemployed people in India as well

companies use call centres in India as it is a lot cheaper to employ people there. even though international calls have to be connected, the company still makes more money than if they employed people in the UK

and to be honest, people in India need employment more then people in the UK as there is no real wellfare or benefits available
