I often use two websites, "Make a Child Smile" and "Hugs and Hope", where the stories and P.O. box adresses of seriously ill children are posted, and you can send cards/letters/packages to them to brighten their day. There's this one girl on Hugs and Hope, she's 15 years old (my age). She is battling cancer for the 3rd time in her life, and now needs a bone marrow transplant for leukemia. She has a long hospital stay ahead of her. I want to send her a gift (Something relatively inexpensive, and small/easy to mail), to brighten her day and make her hospital stay more comfortable. Only one problem: I don't know what to get her. I don't know her personally, and her parents weren't too specific on what her interestests are. Any suggestions?

A gift card might not be such a great idea. I live in Canada and she lives in the U.S.... also she will be in isolation for a long time after the transplant and won't really be able to get outside. Thank you for the suggestion, though.

First of all....I am sorry and good for you....maybe a nice baskset of mixed things like little toys. A YOYO, a nice smelling lotion, some pretty paper with pencils and erasers...you know stationary. Kids like that kind of stuff. I am a teacher and kids LOVE a lot of little stuff they can take out and look at over and over again. OH yeah and stickers too with envelopes.

A small but cheap(ish) MP3 or 4 player.
Time will be nicer in hospital with a bit of music.
Put the music on for her too - download the latest off the net.
Easy and light to send through the post.

You're a great person for doing things like this !

15 yr old girls love make-up and girly mags too.

Some ideas:
sketch books and colored pencils
grown up coloring books (i.e. The Anti-Coloring Books)
Klutz books and kits
a journal or scrapbook w/ some materials
a magazine subscription

I hope that helps. You are a caring person. The world needs more like you.

i think of photos of all of them with you would be advantageous. whilst rings is advantageous, you stated money is tight and that i know I prefer to %. out my very very own rings. you would be able to desire to get each a advantageous physique or get all of them a similar one that shows all of you jointly or merely you and each bridesmaid. Congratulations, I have been given married in July too!
