No.
Although 5 1/2 games is a big hill to climb I think The Tigers have just enough fortitude and gumption to squeeze by.
But they had better start showing it.
There is NO excuse for what has happened to The Tigers this year---NONE! They simply need to step it up and start playing like they want it.

Of course not there is still a month left in the season. A three game series here with Seattle and three in Cleveland will make the month interesting. With the team they have it is hard to count them out. Seattle also has three games in New York coming up so that will help the Tigers get back into the wild-card race, having those two teams beat each other up. The only thing the Tigers can worry about is taking care of themselves and what they can control. If they do then it should work out for them at the end of the year.

By no means are they out yet. Their chances have droped significantly but they aren't out. To win the division will be tough, especially since there are only 3 game left with the Indians and they are in Cleveland. You never know what can happen. Wild Card wise they have a batter shot. Seattle is slipping and do you think New York's pitching will hold up? The tigers(as said above)are by no means done and out of this race, they don't have very good chances but 5 1/2 and 3 games are nothing.

Yes.
They oviously arent going to catch the Yankees and M's in the Wild Card, and they arent going to climb a five game hill to rally back and win the division.
But, anything can happen. I believe the Tigers have the easier schedule and anything can happen with a month to go.
P.S. I have nothing against the Tigers. As a matter of a fact I want them to WIN the division. But my honest opinion is they are done.

They have a shot in the wild card. If the Yanks played like that did last night, losing to a 3-9 pitcher and with Mariners' struggles on the road. The Tigers have a decent shot

I hope not. I want them in the Wildcard. I'm a Cleveland fan. I'd rather see Detroit in the Fall then have to face NYY. You can kiss the division goodbye. Cleveland is red hot now. Indians hitters couldn't hit a lick for a month. Detroit had their shot then. Cleveland has plenty of games left this month vs Chicago and KC...that should wrap the Central up. And fact is, Indians have the best starting pitching rotations in the American League Central, one of the best in MLB. I hope Detroit shows some *** and wins the Wildcard. It's unlikely though.

No, as far as first place , yes, but i think they can win the wild card if they get Sheffield back. The bull pen is doing well, with Zumaya and Fenando back. Look for them to play better baseball in september, because there are jobs on the line, like pudge, Inge, and Thames, and Casey, and a favorable schedule. Still like their starting pitching, so don't give up. I don't think the Yankees or seattle are better in the wild card.
