...oh, they were definitely better; back in the good ol' days of the late '70's and early-to-mid '80's, the smaller independent production companies were almost endlessly and consistantly punching out these films, left and right, and they were able to be more daring, and get away with a lot more, since most of the time, they were able to fly under the radar of the wretched MPAA ratings board. The general concensus of the MPAA, at the time, was that they figured no one would actually see these films, anyways (...oh how blind they were!!!); in addition, some of the filmmakers actually had the gutsy balls to release and distribute the films themselves, unrated, so that they could get their true 'vision' out there, despite being unable to advertise in newspapers and T.V. commercials (i.e., "Dawn of the Dead", "Zombie" "Day of the Dead", "Pieces", "The Mutilator" etc.)...
Unfortunately, those days are long gone, especially after the bigger studios ate up and absorbed the smaller ones, and the new age of home video became the arena for independent filmmakers to unleash their 'visions'; a shame, since there are actually some good productions, which were regelated directly to home video, which would have played on the big screen so much better than some of the big studio dreck we, as an audience, are being forced to digest, and in most cases, regirgitate...
...I absolutely love Linnea Quigley's sassy, sexpot, devil-may-care attitude and personality; a very sexy, talented and precocious presence, both on and off the screen, I have had the pleasure of meeting her several times, at many of the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors, when it conducts it's yearly tour of the greater Southern California area. This fine, sexy lady exhues a most certain pride, appreciation and exhileration about being one of the foremost contemporary Scream Queens, and she absolutely loves her fans!!!
...although I relish just about each and every appearance by Linnea, in her films, my two utmost favorites are, of course, "Return of the Living Dead" and "Night of the Demons"...
...you listed a good number of Linnea's best performances; in case you have not seen them, you might want to seek out and watch these ones, as well:
"Murder Weapon"
"Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers"
"Witchtrap"
...and a very early one, that she did for one of Charles Band's first production companies, "Fairy Tales"
