The person who did this to her child is currently in jail. We want custody, though.

The quote is off the Temination of Parental Rights site for the state that she lives in.

I hope that's the case, Witch Nanny. And not just because I want the baby. She deserves to go away for a long long time!

If it was a deliberate injury then yes it would. If you have injured a three week old child on purpose then the whole weight of the law should come down on you and you should be locked up and the key thrown away.

I'm a layperson on medical matters, I don't think a broken leg is normally associated with risk of death; however, with an infant, that might be the case, and I'd certainly want to know HOW the leg was broken, because that might have risked death.

In any event, it's obvious that it would cause extreme physical pain, especially for an infant where every pain is extreme because they don't understand pain yet.

Good luck, and I hope whoever did this goes to jail until the child reaches retirement age.

Yes.

Breaking a leg would be under the "impairment of the function of a bodily member".

Yes. I believe that a three week old with a broken leg is considered to have a serious bodily injury.

I'll note that this is a scary question to ask. No one wants to see a broken three week old.

it would cause physical pain but I think its talking about losing a leg at the hand of someone else not just breaking it.
Broken bones heal and do usual leave like long impairment of the function.

Dear Dum Dum Bok, I would think a broken leg would both hurt and impair movement, wouldn't you?

You know this really sounds sick. I seriously hope you did not break a childs leg.

it could be it could not,it depends how serious the injury was and the circumstances, not enough information to establish this.

I think it would depend on the severity of the fracture.
